Salmon Croquettes

Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these Salmon Croquettes are a flavorful and easy-to-make dish, perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner.

  • 1 can (14.75 oz) salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, mayonnaise, beaten egg, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into 8 equal-sized patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry the croquettes for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through.
  6. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon.

Notes

For a healthier option, bake the croquettes at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
