Croissant Bake

A rich and savory croissant bake combining flaky croissants with eggs, cheese, and fresh herbs for a comforting brunch or breakfast dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large croissants, cut into cubes
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the cubed croissants evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon, green onions, and chopped parsley.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants in the baking dish.
  6. Allow the mixture to soak for about 10 minutes to let croissants absorb the custard.
  7. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the eggs are set.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add sautéed mushrooms or spinach. Serve warm with a side of fresh fruit or mixed greens.
