Hamburger Steaks in Creamy Dill Sauce

Juicy hamburger steaks served in a luscious creamy dill sauce, perfect for a comforting and flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, egg, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape mixture into 4 equal-sized hamburger steaks.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the steaks for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Add beef broth and bring to a simmer, scraping the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, and chopped dill. Mix until smooth and heated through.
  7. Return hamburger steaks to the skillet and coat them with the creamy dill sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to combine flavors.
  8. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

For an extra creamy sauce, add a splash of heavy cream or substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt. Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
