A simple and delicious cheese quesadilla featuring melted cheese sandwiched between warm tortillas, perfect for a quick snack or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • Optional: salsa, sour cream, guacamole for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  2. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle evenly with the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
  3. Top with the second tortilla and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden and the cheese starts to melt.
  4. Carefully flip the quesadilla with a spatula and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden and cheese is fully melted.
  5. Remove from skillet and let cool slightly before cutting into wedges.
  6. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole as desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sliced jalapeños or cooked chicken inside before cooking.
