  • 2 cups sourdough bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (about 2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. Dip the sourdough cubes into the melted butter, then carefully place them into the hot oil.
  4. Fry the sourdough bites in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, remove bites from oil and drain on paper towels.
  6. While still warm, toss the fried sourdough bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  7. Serve immediately for the best crispy texture and flavor.
