Chocolate Puff Pastry

Indulge in flaky, buttery puff pastry filled with rich, melted chocolate—a quick and delightful dessert perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into 4 equal squares.
  3. Place chopped dark chocolate in the center of two pastry squares.
  4. Brush the edges of the squares with beaten egg.
  5. Top with the remaining pastry squares and press edges firmly to seal, using a fork to crimp the edges.
  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle sugar if desired.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.

Notes

For an extra indulgent touch, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
